Removable Orthodontic Appliance

Therapy with removable orthodontic appliances is usually the first phase of treatment, which begins at an early age to correct jaw alignment. After this, the position of the teeth is corrected, and the therapy is completed. If the problem is not addressed at a younger age, it becomes more difficult over time.

Since these appliances are intended for our youngest patients, they can come in various designs and patterns.

What is Achieved by Using a Fixed Appliance?

Every patient desires straight and beautiful teeth. However, the goal of orthodontics is not just aesthetics but also properly aligned teeth, which are extremely important for the overall health of the body. Properly aligned teeth ensure an even distribution of chewing force, preserving the supporting tissues of the teeth and preventing tooth overload and excessive wear.

5 Reasons to Get Fixed Braces

A fixed orthodontic appliance, commonly known among patients as fixed braces, is installed very quickly and easily. The installation of fixed braces is completely painless.

Fixed Braces with Brackets

For adult patients, the use of a fixed appliance (braces) is preferred. It is the best and most commonly used method for resolving orthodontic issues in adult patients. A fixed orthodontic appliance consists of tubes or bands placed on the first permanent molars (sixth teeth), brackets that are bonded to each tooth, and archwires that run through the central slot of the bracket. The archwires in the slot (central groove) of the bracket can be held in place by wire or colored elastic ligatures, which are referred to as conventional or traditional brackets.

Self-Ligating Fixed Appliance

A self-ligating fixed appliance has brackets with a clip that holds the wire in the slot and can open and close. Due to their mechanical properties, these brackets reduce the overall duration of the therapy.
